We’ve just stumbled upon two new Coolpad phones from China, that have recently received the regulatory approval to work on TD-LTE networks and be sold without problems. The first one of them is Coolpad 8703, that runs KitKat and should have an affordable price tag.
This model passed the authentication process of the Chinese Industry and Information Tech Authority about a week ago and it comes with Android 4.4.2, running on a quad core 1.2 GHz processor. It also has a 4.5 inch LCD display with a 480 x 854 pixel resolution and a 5 megapixel rear camera, plus a 3 MP front shooter. On the connectivity side there’s GSM, TD-SCDMA and TD-LTE, while the RAM is 512 MB on this handset and storage is 4 GB.
It will come in black or white, with a thickness of 10.9 mm. The other model is the Coolpad 8021, with Android 4.3 on board and a 4 inch LCD display with 480 x 800 pixel resolution. It has the same camera combo (5 MP back, 3 MP front camera), 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of storage. It measures 11.25 mm in thickness and it’s meant for China Mobile with a very low price.
