Karbonn is a pretty respected Indian device maker, that just put out a new handset, the Titanium S3. This model borrows some design lines from the Samsung Galaxy devices and also its theme and parts of the UI. The product is priced at $127, which is very affordable for the midrange phone.
This one is a qHD display handset with a 5 inch diagonal and dual SIM slots. It sports a 1.3 GHz quad core MediaTek MT6528M processor, 3 capacitive buttons below the display and 512 MB of RAM. It also has 4 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and a decent 8 megapixel back camera with autofocus and LED flash. There’s a 2 MP cam upfront, GPS, a 1800 mAh battery, Bluetooth, 3G and WiFi.
The OS is Android 4.4 KitKat and from what I can see, you either get a special case bundled with the device, or its maker recommends one, as shown in the image below. Lately the likes of Micromax, Karbonn and Lava have been getting busy in the smartphone area, with Windows Phone particularly, but Android hasn’t exactly been neglected.
