After we had a couple of photo leaks in the past few weeks with a new slim device from Gionee, now Lu Weibing, Gionee’s CEO officially announced on its Weibo profile that a new piece of art is currently in preparation, and that this device will be the world’s new thinnest smartphone.
As you may know, the Gionee device leaked a few weeks ago is called GN9005 and will probably go for sale as Gionee S4.8. Lu Weibing also unveils the fact that this new phone will have a metallic case, and that LTE 4G connectivity will be supported. Unlike the actual world’s slimmest phone named Gionee Elife S5.5 (5.55 mm), the Gionee S4.8 will measure just 5 mm in thickness.
According to some leaks, Gionee GN9005 will pack a 4.8 inch HD display (1.280 x 720 pixels), a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, a 8-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and LTE 4G. We expect that this device to be announced sometime soon. Are you enthusiastic about this launch?
