Philips started this week by announcing a new handset, the S399 model with TD-LTE, that’s shown below. This phone was already known by us, after being passed through TENAA certifications a few days ago and now it has become reality.
The product runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and relies on a quad core 1.2 GHz processor, a 5 inch LCD display with a HD resolution, plus we also get a 2 megapixel front camera. We’ve got an 8 megapixel CMOS sensor at the back and on the connectivity side there’s WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and the LTE flavour mentioned above. This model has 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of storage and China Mobile seems to be the carrier it will be available on.
This model weighs 163 grams, measures 9.65 mm in thickness, so it’s not exactly up to the latest standards when it comes to fashionable design. Philips S399 comes in black or white and it seems to use a pretty big camera at the back, with a LED flash.
