After waiting for years for an iPhone rival/clone from Meizu, the M8, it finally came out, without the expected buzz and without surprising anyone. Outdated software and hardware, plagued by delays and issues… so sad.

Jack Wong, Meizu CEO announced that the Chinese manufacturer is already preparing a follow-up to the M8, the M9, that will be available in CDMA and TD-SCDMA flavors.

The CDMA compatible Meizu M9 will be known as M9c, while the China 3G TD-SCDMA one will bear the name of M9t. Mister Wong didn’t mention any specs or a launch date, but considering the issues of the first device, expect it to be scheduled for 2010, teased all the way through 2009 and postponed till 2011.
