We’ve found the full 2009 roadmap for HTC’s smartphones a while ago and already some of these devices were announced (Diamond2, Touch Pro2, Magic), but now it’s time to have a look at those that weren’t. Among the handsets mentioned below, Firestone stands out, thanks to its large touchscreen and 8 megapixel camera.
HTC Whitestone is also worth mentioning with its 3.6 inch WVGA display, 528 MHz Qualcomm 7600 CPU, 5 megapixel camera, 256 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM. The device supports GSM and EVDO connectivity, runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and it’ll hit the market in September through Verizon. Next in line is Firestone, with the same amount of ROM and RAM and the same display as Whitestone.
However, HTC Firestone has very hot specs, like its 600 MHz Qualcomm 8250 CPU, an 8 megapixel camera, Windows Mobile 6.5 and GSM/HSPA support. Expect it to reach your local stores in September. Thor (Athena 2) is also something to keep an eye on, due to an incredible screen, a 4.8 inch WVGA display, Windows Mobile 6.5 and a 5 megapixel camera.
HTC Thor will be launched in September and it packs a 1 GHz Qualcomm 8250 processor, 256 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM. On the “lower end” side comes Twin, a phone that features a VGA display, a 528 MHz Qualcomm 7501A CPU and TI Locosto processors, 256MB RAM, 512MB ROM, a 3.2 megapixel camera and support for GSM/CDMA connectivity.
Last on the list is a familiar face, HTC Maple (Excalibur 3G), with its 2.4 inch QVGA display, 2 megapixel camera and Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard. There’s also a 528 MHz Qualcomm 7228 CPU on board, plus 156 MB RAM and 256 MB ROM. Expect Maple to hit the market in May.
