Creating rugged Windows Mobile handsets has become a trend for manufacturers it seems and Nautiz X5 is one of these devices, coming from Handheld Europe. The X5 runs Windows Mobile 6.1 and is ready to face extreme weather (-20 to +55 degrees Celsius), dust, sand and being dropped from up to 1.8 meters.

Nautiz X5 also packs a Marvell PXA320 Xscale CPU (806 MHz) and an incredible 4400 mAh battery, plus a SiRF star II GPS chip with InstantFix II. There’s also GSM/EDGE and UMTS/HSDPA connectivity on its specs list, plus a 3.5 inch TFT touchscreen (480 x 640 pixels), WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR and a 3 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash.

We must mention the presence of an integrated laser 1D barcode scanner on board, plus 256 MB RAM and 512 MB Flash memory. You should also know that if you want to get some quality time with the device, it’s available for hands on experiences at CeBIT 2009, in Hannover, Germany.
