Well, we were quite happy to see there’s a new Samsung phone in town, but the SM-G3139D seems to suffer from a double identity. For one thing, there’s the version leaked by a TENAA listing, which is the Chinese version of the FCC and then there’s the other one, leaked in GFXBench.
The TENAA listing includes Android 4.3, a 3.97 inch TFT display with a 800 x 480 pixel resolution, a 1.2 GHz processor and 768 MB of RAM. Then there’s 4 GB of storage, a microSD card slot with up to 64 GB support and 11 mm thick chassis. Finally, the product weighs 124 grams and seems to have a typical Samsung midranger phone design. Seeing how these details weren’t impressive, I had a look on GFXBench and the story was totally different.
Turns out the SM-G3139D runs Android 4.3 indeed, but it has a huge 5.8 inch display with the 800 x 480 pixel resolution, a dual core 1.2 GHz processor and 0.6 GB of RAM. It also comes with 4 GB of storage, so at least the memory part is real. The camera is a 3 MP unit at the back and there’s a 0.3 MP shooter as well. It appears only the screen size is the trouble here. Which one is it?!
