Recently, according to a report from FORBES we found out that Xiaomi, the Chinese company that right now is the fourth-largest smartphone vendor in the world, wants to become the most valuable tech company by raising funding that could value the company at $40 billion, as several sources confirmed to the publication in case.
Taking a look in the history of Xiaomi, we get to know that the company that was found in 2010 had raised at that time $216 million, and now in 2014, more precisely in June, the company raised 4$ billion. If Xiaomi manages to raise $40 billion, it will become the world’s most valuable company in the world and it will worth more than Sony ($19.5 billion), and Lenovo ($15.6 billion).
As you may know, a while ago, Xiaomi was for a couple of hours the world’s third smartphone manufacturer, until Lenovo and Motorola became a single company and took the 3rd place. In the third quarter of this year, Xiaomi shipperd 17.3 million smartphones, with 200% more than last year. It remains to see when Xiaomi will raise such an amount of money and what they will do next.
