It’s been just a few days ever since the Oppo R3 was announced, with a skinny 4.85 mm waistline and already that record has been beaten by a Vivo model. The Vivo X5Max L has set a new thickness record, of just 4.75 mm in waistline.

The device is shown below and it was unveiled in China this week, after being certified by local authorities. They confirm the thickness and we also learn that the smartphone comes with a 5.5 inch Full HD display, an octa core 1.7 GHz processor, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage and a microSD card slot with support for up to 128 GB in extra storage. There’s a 13 MP back camera, as well as a 5 megapixel front shooter to take care of your imaging needs.

This model does dual SIM dual standby and also comes with TD-LTE, TD-SCDMA and GSM support. Its design feels very much like the one of an iPhone, an older generation one and the camera at the back tends to protrude from the body a bit. I’ll say that the weight of 146 grams feels pretty big for such a skinny phone.
