The Vivo X5Max is meant to bring another world record, when it comes to the thinnest handset available, reaching 4.75 mm in waistline, or even less, according to some rumors. The newcomer is expected to debut in a few days and it will also reach India on the 15th this month.

The phone will run Android 4.4 and apparently without its camera bulge, it may measure as little as 3.75 mm. The device will pack a 5.5 inch Full HD display, a 1.7 GHz octa core Mediatek processor, as well as 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, a microSD card slot with support for up to 128 GB and a 13 megapixel back camera. It will also have a 5 MP front shooter and offer support for 4G LTE and TD-SCDMA, while also offering dual SIM card slots.

Vivo managed to achieve an incredible waistline, simply by shifting 90% of the internal components to the sides of the screen. This made the profile slimmer, but also could affect the thickness of the bezels. Pricing for the Indian market is not known, but it will probably will be in a week’s time.
