Sony Ericsson and its brand ambassador, Maria Sharapova have just announced the new handset, T707, a flip phone that already surfaced in China weeks ago.
The main appeal of the handset are its “unique pulsating notification and light effects”, that will appear on the external screen, accompanied by a few themes that change their look depending on the time of day.
Sony Ericsson T707 supports gesture control and works in quad band GSM, UMTS/HSDPA 2100, UMTS/HSDPA 850/1900/2100 networks. There’s also a 2.2 inch TFT internal display on board (240 x 320 pixels), Google Maps, FM radio with RDS, a 3.2 megapixel camera with video recording and geotagging and 100 MB of internal memory.
The new flip phone also packs the NetFront HTML browser, email, Exchange ActiveSync, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, a media player, YouTube and a Memory Stick Micro slot (cards of up to 16 GB). T707 will hit the shops in Q2 2009 for a yet unannounced price. Here’s Maria Sharapova detailing the device:
