ASUS was quite busy at CES 2015, debuting a notebook or two, a bunch of hybrids and two handsets. One of them is really interesting, because it marks a premiere. We’re talking about the ASUS ZenFone 2 model, that’s shown below and debuts with 4 GB of RAM on board.
This device is both ergonomic and elegant and it has a very impressive screen to body ratio, of 72%. Its bezel is very slim and the volume buttons have been placed at the back, as shown in the images. The handset comes in variety of colors and it also brings a Full HD 5.5 inch display, an Intel Atom Z3560 or Z3580 64 bit CPU, from the Moorefield series. The first CPU is clocked at 1.8 GHz and the second at 2.3 GHz and each of them is associated to the 2 GB RAM and 4GB RAM versions, respectively.
You’ll also get a PowerVR Series 6 G6430 GPU on board, a microSD card slot and up to 64 GB in internal storage. Upfront there’s a 5 megapixel shooter with a wide angle lens and at the back you can find a 5 element lenss 13 MP camera, with dual tone flash and PixelMaster features. ASUS ZenFone 2 packs a 3000 mAh battery with quick charge features and it also comes with LTE and GPS.
Its metal finish is quite impressive and so is the price, starting at $199 for the 2 GB 16 GB storage version.
