Indian smartphone maker Lava has debuted two new budget phones with 3G connectivity, both available only locally. The devices are dubbed Iris 350 and Iris 470 and feature rectangular designs and 3 capacitive buttons.
The Iris 350 is priced at $48, while the Iris 470 goes for $71. The cheaper unit runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat and comes with a 3.5 inch TFT display, with a 480 x 320 pixel resolution and dual SIM support. The product has a single core 1 GHz processor inside, 256 MB of RAM and 512 MB of storage, so the bare minimum to even be called a smartphone.
There’s also a microSD card slot on board and we’ve got a 2 MP main camera with LED flash and even a front 0.3 MP camera. The battery is a 1400 mAh unit and other specs include 3G connectivity, WiFi, Bluetooth and microUSB. Lava Iris 470 is a bit of a higher end affair compared to the Iris 350 and packs a 4.5 inch 854 x 480 pixel display, 512 MB of RAM and a 1.3 GHz dual core processor.
There’s Android 4.2.2 on board, a 5 MP back camera and a front 0.3 MP shooter, plus 4 GB of storage and a 1650 mAh battery.
