A while ago we’ve heard several times about an upcoming Qualcomm processor called Snapdragon 815, at one moment being leaked a specs list too. However, today we find out that all had been false, as Qualcomm’s Senior Director of Public Relations, Jon Carvil told to the guys from Fudzilla that there’s no Snapdragon 815 in the works.
From the previous leaks, it was supposed that the Snapdragon 815 to be built on the 16nm technology process, and to offer four Cortex-A72 and other four Cortex-A53 cores. As Jon Carvil says, the company never had such a product, as the development from scratch of a new module takes years.
However, Qualcomm will release a new flagship SoC in the future, more precisely the Snapdragon 820. This processor was mentioned at the Mobile World Congress 2015. At the moment, Snapdragon 810 is the high-end one that is found on LG G Flex 2 and HTC One M9.
