China, India and US are three big countries that are driving smartphone growth all over the world. India will surpass the US over the next years, thus becoming the second largest smartphone market by 2017, selling 174 million handset units. 458 million smartphones will be moved in China this year, according to Strategy Analytics’  forecast.

This number will go past half a billion models in 2017, which is very impressive. Obviously, since China is placed first, its growth is slowing down and the market is maturing. India has the next growth wave right now with 118 million smartphones predicted to be sold there this year. Over the next two years that number will increase by around 50 million units.

USA will climb slowly from this year’s 164 million units to 169 million in 2017.
