The Sharp Aquos Crystal 2 was announced in May this year and its launch time has come. The product will be available on the Japanese carrier Softbank starting with July 17th and it will be bundled with a set of harman / kardon ONYX STUDIO speakers.
This model keeps the edge to edge approach of its predecessor, but it’s a bit bigger. This frame-less phone can be preordered from today and it comes wit a 5.2 inch screen, a waterproof body and mobile wallet support. The handset packs a 2.1 MP selfie camera, placed at the bottom of the screen, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. Measuring 11 mm in thickness and weighing 154 grams, the phone comes with LTE and HD voice, as well as NFC and 1 Seg Mobile TV.
The battery and CPU haven’t changed from the predecessor. There’s a Snapdragon 400 CPU here and the back camera is an 8 megapixel unit. The screen is the interesting bit here, using a new type of S-PureLED panel, that in spite of the 720p resolution will be extra crisp, bright and offer very realistic colours.
