Japanese carrier KDDI has announced together with Kyocera the Torque Urbano series of handsets, that includes the Torque G02 and Urbano V02 units. The devices will be up for sale from July 16th and July 18th respectively and they stand out through the ability to take pictures underwater, among others.
Torque G02 is a resilient model, that has military standard protection. It can face salty water, take a dunk in 1.5 meter deep water and use its 13 megapixel pixel main camera to take underwater shots. It also has a 5 megapixel shooter upfront, a 4.7 inch HD screen with an IGZO LCD panel, Android 5.1 and a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, clocked at 1.4 GHz.
There are also 2 GB of RAM on board, 16 GB of storage and LTE connectivity. This device can be used with gloves and can easily face strenous activities like running, walking, camping or hiking. Then comes the Urbano V02, that uses metal for its case and it’s more luxurious than the other model. It’s also water, dust and impact proof and even withstands vibration and extreme temperatures.
This one has a 5 inch HD screen, VoLTE support, a 13 megapixel main camera and 5 MP front shooter, plus 16 GB of storage, 2 GB of RAM and Android 5.1 on board. LTE is also here.
