I’m sure you’ve heard by now that HTC has a big event lined up for the end of the month and while some speculate it may bring us the HTC One A9/Aero, it could in fact mark the debut of HTC Butterfly 3. And that mostly because it takes place in Japan, traditionally a place of debut for the Butterfly models. Today we learn the Butterfly 3 may in fact be another familiar model…

It could in fact be the HTC J Butterfly HTV31 (B830x), that recently passed certification in Taiwan. It was certified yesterday, under the codename HTC B830x and it comes with support for LTE connectivity, Bluetooth and WiFi. Sources say that the HTC Butterfly 3 will end up being an international version of the HTC J butterfly HTV31, the device meant for Japanese carrier KDDI and already launched.

If it’s indeed the same phone, then we already know its specs, including Android 5.0 Lollipop, a 5.2 inch Quad HD screen (Super LCD3), water and dust resistant chassis and a Snapdragon 810 processor. 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage and a 20 megapixel back camera should also be here, plus a front 13 MP shooter.
