Google has unveiled today the Nexus 5X, as well as the Google Nexus 6P, the latter being made by Huawei. This is actually the Android 6.0 Marshmallow flagship this year, with a phablet format and a battery bigger than the one of the Nexus 6.
The 32 GB phone starts at $500, which translates to 650 euros somehow on the old continent. The handset comes with a metal unibody design and a 5.7 inch Quad HD AMOLED screen with Gorilla Glass 4 protection. Inside the phone there’s version 2.1 of the Snapdragon 810 processor, 3 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of storage. The product measures 7.3 mm in thickness and weighs 178 grams.
At the back there’s a 12.3 megapixel main shooter with F/2.0 aperture, laser assisted autofocus and 4K video capture. There’s an 8 megapixel selfie shooter here, a fingerprint scanner with Nexus Imprint tech and an USB Type C connector, that with 10 minutes of fast charging offers 7 hours of functioning. Dual front speakers are also here. It’s important to highlight the lack of OIS, wireless charging or microSD card slot here.
The product comes in the following color choices: aluminum, graphite, frost and gold. Preorders start today in USA and the product will reach over 30 countries by the year end.
