Back in February 2008 Nokia launched Ovi Share, a photo and video sharing website competing with Facebook and Flickr, but now they’ll have to stop the project, that’s deemed less profitable than they had hoped.
Reuters informs us that Nokia will stop the development of Ovi Share, as they reduce investments in the entire Services department. Ovi Share users shouldn’t fret, as they’ll be able to access the service from on too, without issues and it will be maintained as it is.
It’s interesting that Nokia didn’t provide statistics regarding the use of its service, but analysts claim that it’s far behind the likes of Facebook and Flickr, when it comes to user numbers and popularity.
