Sony’s Xperia Z5 Premium 4K phone has been certified recently by the Taiwanese NCC authority, which is basically their FCC or TENAA locally. This is the world’s first 4K display smartphone, unveiled at IFA 2015 last month.
It comes with LTE support and it was also certified for Bluetooth, WiFi and NFC usage. The handset comes with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and it caused a bit of stir when it was found that it doesn’t display a 4K resolution all the time, but only when that’s needed. Inside the phone we find the new version of the Snapdragon 810 processor, the one being cooled with special components and heatsinks.
Upfront we find a 5.5 inch LCD panel, while at the back there’s a 23 megapixel new gen camera, with a boatload of features. The selfie camera is a 5.1 MP unit and this model does LTE Category 6, which means the download speeds it reaches are in the area of 300 Mbps. This is a single SIM phone with a nano SIM card slot and it incorporates a fingerprint scanner into the side Power button.
Xperia Z5 Premium also brings a dust proof and waterproof case, complying with the IPX5/IPX8 standards.
