Motorola and Verizon announced two new DROID handsets today, models that have previously leaked. I’m talking about the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 and Droid MAXX 2. Both are pictured below and have been previously teased by Verizon on Twitter.
Droid Turbo 2 stands out through a 5.4 inch AMOLED Quad HD screen, with a special shatterproof protection courtesy of Motorola’s ShatterShield technology. This can protect the handset from cracking for up to 4 years. This model also brings a Snapdragon 810 processor clocked at 2 GHz, 32 GB or 64 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and 3 GB of RAM. There’s also a 21 megapixel back camera and a 5 MP front shooter.
The battery is a 3760 mAh unit and Motorola says that it will offer you 48 hours of battery life on a single charge. Turbo charge is available here, meaning you can charge the device for 15 minutes and get 13 hours of battery life. Android 5.1 is the OS of choice and the device also gets Moto Maker support, with a variety of covers to choose from.
Droid MAXX 2 has a Full HD 5.5 inch screen, an octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, a 21 MP back camera and a 3630 mAh battery with TurboCharge as well. Both models will be available from October 29th in physical stores and online. Droid Turbo 2 32 GB is available as 24 monthly payments of $26, while the Droid MAXX 2 comes with 24 monthly payments of $16.
