5G-technology

Standardization and industrialization of the tech is approaching and at the forefront of innovation are brands like Ericsson, Nokia and Huawei, plus a slew of carriers. Nokia has the advantage of having integrated Alcatel-Lucent into their networks business this year. The Finnish firm is also working with Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo, SK Telecom from South Korea and Deutsche Telekom on 5G tech as well.

Active development in China had been promoted by Nokia Communications from 2013 and strategic partnerships have been formed. China Mobile is one of the largest carriers in the world, as far as customer base is concerned, so it has the resources and user base to test and implement upcoming standard technologies. We expect a functional demo at the 2018 Olympics in South Korea.
