We can consider that the recent development, when Xiaomi was alleged to infringe intellectual properties by a patent troll in USA, was yet another confirmation of the Xiaomi Mi 5. That model was listed in the infringement documents and today we get a more palpable leak, as shown below. It’s a benchmark obviously.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to pack a Snapdragon 820 processor and this model has been recently spotted in AnTuTu with a huge score. It achieves 101.339 points, stopping short of breaking the high score record of 120k mentioned here. It beats the Apple A8x and Exynos 7420 by quite a margin, as well as the Kirin 950 from Huawei.
Still, it scores a bit below the Apple A9, if this is indeed the same AnTuTu 6.0 benchmark. Xiaomi Mi5 is also going to be available in a Plus version, probably with a bigger screen and even more raw power. Last we heard, the Mi 5 was coming with a 5.3 inch Quad HD screen with 2.5D glass panel and slightly curved edges, plus 4 GB of RAM and an USB Type C port.
A debut is scheduled for December 11th.
