As many other manufacturers, Micromax also introduced on the market a sub-brand, in this case the YU brand. Starting today, there’s another smartphone in this range, more precisely the Micromax Yu Yutopia, a true flagship product that arrives with Cyanogen 12.1 custom rom based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
Among its specs we have a 5.2-inch Sharp Quad HD display (2560 x 1440 pixels), an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 4 GB of RAM memory and also 32 GB space of internal storage + microSD card slot up to 128 GB. In the same time, this phone arrives in the package with dual-SIM support, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and 4G LTE connectivity.
Yu Yutopia comes with a 21-megapixel rear camera and dual-tone LED flash, with a 8-megapixel front-facing sensor and with a 3000 mAh battery that promises up to 8 hours of talk time, or 300 hours of standby. In order to offer a full package here, Micromax also brought a fingerprint scanner that is placed on the back, right under the camera sensor.
From the design point of view, we notice some similarities to the OnePlus X smartphone mostly when it comes to its front-facing panel, while the rear cover looks like one borrowed from a Lumia smartphone with that circular camera shape. However, Yu Yutopia remains a true flagship device, one that is currently being sold for just $375 on the Indian market.
