The crazy hackers of PPC Geeks have done it again! They managed to port the new Android OS ROM to the HTC Touch Diamond and Touch Pro smartphones and the software was posted to the HTC-Android forums.

You can use your handset as a guinea pig for this new ROM by accessing this link, but you should know that it’s not a final version we’re dealing with here. However, Android OS runs perfectly on Diamond and Pro, but we’ll have to wait for Linux drivers to be created for these devices, before we get full functionality.

Right now, HTC Touch Diamond and Touch Pro can only surf the web and send texts via a GSM connection. You won’t be able to use the handsets’ microphone, WiFi, speaker, Bluetooth, GPS and many more features… yet.
