Turns out that people aren’t happy with just using action cameras anymore and have resorted to using handsets with action camera features. One of them is the Kyocera DuraForce Pro model, pictured below and recently launched on Sprint.

The device is actually a familiar face, since it was launched on AT&T at the end of the summer. The device’s core feature, aside from being resilient to 5 feet drops is the camera setup. It features a 13 megapixel main camera, as well as a wide angle 135 degree action cam, that lets users take pictures and videos in GoPro-style manner.

Of course, this model is also water and dust resistant, as well as resilient to drops. It’s certified within the IP68 and Military Standard 810G. The hardware includes a 5 inch screen with a Full HD resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa core CPU, 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. There’s also a 3240 mAh battery, good enough to survive in the wild for a few days.

A dedicated button for EPTT and a side placed fingerprint scanner are also here. The price of the device is $18 per month on a 24 month deal, or a total price of $432.
