HTC launched seemingly out of nowhere a new handset today, a low midranger priced at just $170. It’s dubbed HTC Desire 650 and it’s pictured below with an interesting rear shell, that has special lines for extra grip.
This device was leaked before, as the Desire A17 and it packs a 5 inch HD screen, as well as a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor of unknown identity (possibly a Snapdragon 4xx model) and 2 GB of RAM. There’s BoomSound here, only for headphones though, plus HiRes acoustics, a 13 megapixel main camera and a 5 MP one for selfies and video calls.
NFC and LTE also make the cut, plus a microSD card slot and a 2200 mAh battery. Android 6.0 Marshmallow with HTC Sense 8.0 UI is here and there are no clear plans to update it to Android Nougat. The device debuts in Taiwan in December and it’s likely you’ll also see it in USA and Europe. Nice to see we get dual front speakers here, or at least so it appears.
