Xiaomi just debuted a new phone in India, the Redmi Note 4 model, that will be available in 3 versions: one with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, priced at $146, one with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage at $161 and one with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage at $190.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 comes with an aluminum unibody shell, with a 2.5D curved glass. Upfront there’s a 5.5 inch IPS LCD Full HD panel and the “brain” of the newcomer is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 14 nm FinFET chipset. This is somehow a downgrade from the Snapdragon 650 chip of the Redmi Note 3, but since it’s a smaller chip, it makes the whole gear more power efficient.
This means that the Redmi Note 4 uses 25% less power than the Redmi Note 3 and taking into account the 4100 mAh battery, you should get quite a long functioning time here. Interestingly, this model has a different CPU from the Chinese version, that came with a MediaTek Helio X20 CPU. We’ve also got a 13 megapixel back camera with PDAF and a 5 MP front shooter.
Then there’s dual SIM slots here, VoLTE and Android Marshmallow with MIUI on top. The device is on sale from January 23rd on Flipkart and Mi.com.
