The past week brought us an interesting leak of the Meizu Pro 7, that popped up with a secondary touch panel at the back, that nobody knew much about. We were already reasonably hyped about the phone, because it finally brought something new to the table and today we also get to see that secondary panel activated.

Courtesy of Slashleaks we see it’s placed below the dual camera and it shows only monochrome info. It shows the date, time, missed calls and maybe some notifications and news. Think of it like a piece of the YotaPhone’s back, mixed with the Always On screen from Samsung and you’ll get the gist of it. It will be interesting to see how Meizu covered up the screen panel to avoid smudging.

Also putting a glass panel below the camera may make the entire region of the device a bit more… bendable. The handset is a bit overdue, since its predecessor debuted in May last year. We’re expecting a flagship with an Exynos CPU, 6 GB of RAM and we also saw an USB Type-C port and audio jack in previous leaks. The format seems rather larger, so this may be a phablet going past 5.5 inches in diagonal.

The facade sports a Home button with fingerprint scanner included.
