It’s the week of first contacts, so after checking out the Bluboo S1, we also made first contact with the Umidigi brand. The device in question is the Umidigi C Note 2 and we unboxed it below. It’s got a 5.5 inch screen, midrange specs and it’s available in black and blue. Priced at $153 on TomTop.com this machine has an unique design, that combines polycarbonate with aluminum spray.

Since it’s an unboxing, let’s see what’s inside the box. There’s a transparent and flexible case, a manual, USB cable (microUSB 2.0), charger and metal key, as well as screen protection. There are no headphones, but we’re used to that. Umidigi C Note 2 comes with a 5.5 inch Full HD screen made by Sharp and also has Gorilla Glass 4 protection.

There’s a fingerprint scanner included here and the brain of the smartphone is the MediaTek MT6750T processor (octa core). 4 GB of RAM are also here, plus 64 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and a 4000 mAh battery completes the package, as the selling point. At the back there’s a 13 MP shooter and upfront a 5 MP one. Umidigi C Note 2 measures 8 mm in thickness and weighs 160 grams.

Interestingly there’s something called UMI OS on top of Android Nougat, but it looks very similar to MIUI, if you ask me. There’s a 2.5D glass panel upfront, rather typical. All in all it’s a very familiar package this one, but if the battery is above average, it may become a sleeper hit. You can get the device here.
