Even though the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 hasn’t even been launched yet, there’s talk about the Xiaomi Mi 7 already. While the Mi MIX 2 should debut in a week, the Mi 7 is further away, now being rumored for a Q1 2018 debut. We also have extra details about it below.
Turns out that Xiaomi will be in pole position to get the Snapdragon 845 on this device. This year they also got the Snapdragon 835 on the Xiaomi Mi 6 quite fast, even managing to do so in front of the LG G6 for example. Back to the release time frame, the Q1 2018 thingie may mean we could see the product at CES 2018 or MWC 2018, but Xiaomi doesn’t usually attend such shows.
They prefer to stay on the sideline and launch their products at tech shows in Beijing or Shanghai. One thing’s for sure: the Mi 7 will get solid influences from the Mi MIX 2 and it may sport a very narrow bezel screen. We expect a metal and glass body, a Quad HD 6 inch screen and a dual back camera. Sources talk about 6 or 8 GB of RAM being on board and the screen being an AMOLED this time, in lieu of an IPS LCD.
I expect the fingerprint scanner to be embedded in the screen.
