One of the best things about the LG G6 was its Full Vision screen. That has been transplanted to the midrange Q series, giving birth to handsets like the LG Q6. We unboxed this device below for you, so let’s check it out. It’s priced at $230.

It arrived this summer, as a sort of affordable LG G6 cousin with midrange specs. It ditches the dual camera and goes for a Snapdragon 435 CPU. Inside the box we find the metal key used to access the slots, charger, USB cable (microUSB 2.0 not Type-C), plus headphones, the regular type not premium ones. No manual here, but the commercial version should have one.

The Full Vision screen is an 18:9 5.5 inch IPS LCD panel, with curved corners and Full HD+ resolution. It’s very bright and crisp and you can already tell that from the first few seconds after its boot. The handset measures 8.1 mm in thickness, weighs 149 grams and uses a sturdy aluminum series 7000 body, that’s military certified, so pretty resilient.

Specs include a Snapdragon 435 CPU, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. There’s also a microSD card slot, a 13 megapixel back camera with LED flash and Square camera feature, as well as a 5 MP selfie camera with 100 degree wide angle lens. LG Q6 packs a 3000 mAh battery and may well offer a full day of use, perhaps more. It runs on Android 7.1.1 with LG UI 5.0 on top and also brings dual SIM card slots.

There’s also face recognition and 4G LTE support here. Sounds like a pretty OK package to me, but we’ll put it to the rest and we’ll be back with a full review soon. You can get the handset here.
