We’ve unboxed quite a few Allview phones lately, some of them projector phones, some of them midrangers with a brand new format, that involves an 18:9 aspect screen. The latest such unboxing involves the Allview X4 Soul Infinity L, which is an 18:9 aspect handset, that has a pretty good looking design. It’s a familiar face to us, because we recently reviewed the Infinity N, which is a version slightly higher end than this one.
Priced at $214, it’s clear we’re dealing with a low midranger here, on account of the quad core CPU inside. The battery and screen aren’t half bad though and if you want, you can pay $20 and a price difference and upgrade the RAM, storage and other components. Inside the device’s box we find the manual, charger (5V/1A), headphones (Apple EarPods clone), USB Type-C cable, SIM key, warranty, a cleaning rag and screen protection.
Aside from standing out of the crowd, especially the Allview crowd with an 18:9 aspect screen, this device also comes with the Romanian vocal assistant AVI. Keep in mind it’s a vocal assistant, not a virtual one, so no AI here. Available in black or gold, this smartphone measures 8.5 mm in thickness and weighs 155 grams. It’s a dual SIM machine, with a 5.7 inch IPS LCD display and a 1440 x 720 pixel resolution.
It also has a 2.5D glass panel with Dragontrail protection and inside we find a quad core CPU clocked at 1.45 GHz. There’s 2 GB of RAM here, 16 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and a main 13 megapixel camera with dual LED flash. Upfront we find a 5 MP shooter and other specs include a fingerprint scanner at the back, an USB Type-C port and 4G LTE, plus a 3000 mAh battery.
Allview X4 Soul Infinity N runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and seems to be quite the looker at $214. Its back side is covered with a special type of polycarbonate, which is glossy , but also pretty nice looking. We’ll be back with a full review of the phone soon.
