Over the past 2 or 3 days, we’ve seen another burst of leaks related to the Moto E5 devices. This time we’re seeing both models, the Motorola Moto E5 and Moto E5 Plus certified by the FCC, with a 4000 mAh battery in tow.
This happens after the Moto E5 got rendered by @OnLeaks and Coupon Raja from a variety of angles and also including a 3D video of the device. The novelty here is that the fingerprint scanner has been moved from the front side of the handset to the back, integrated within the Moto logo. On the FCC page, the newcomers are listed as XT1922-4 and XT1922-5. Sadly, the documents don’t give much away about specs, but we do see that the handsets both pack 4000 mAh batteries.
The last year Moto E4 had a 2800 mAh unit, so that’s quite the jump, while the Moto E4 Plus actually had a 5000 mAh unit, so in some ways it’s a downgrade. Interestingly, there’s even a launch date for the devices leaked, April 3rd. We should get metal cases here, the trademark back camera design and the aspect ratio sticks to 16:9, not the modern 18:9.
The microUSB port is also kept, so there’s no love for USB Type-C, plus we may get an extra bump in camera resolution and RAM. The first shot of the Moto E5 we saw this month came from Mysmartprice.
