We’ve been waiting for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 to be announced ever since the Redmi 5 came out and we actually thought they were going to debut together. Now it seems that we’re finally ready for debut time, as we are treated to a major specs list leak, which sounds legit. Also, there’s a Redmi Note 5 Pro.
Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus debuted in December and it was only a matter of time till they got a Note version. February 14 is rumored to be the debut date, marked with an event in India. The tagline “Give me 5” has been thrown around as well. These specs sheets have been leaked via Twitter, with renders and features that sound pretty plausible.
While the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro feels like something new, the Redmi Note 5 could end up as a rebranded Redmi 5 Plus. The Redmi Note 5 is shown by leaks to have a Snapdragon 625 CPU, 3 or 4 GB of RAM and 32 or 64 GB of storage. There’s also a 5 MP front camera with LED flash, a 12 MP single back shooter and an 18:9 5.99 inch display. Completing the package is a hefty 4000 mAh battery.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro inaugurates the Snapdragon 636 CPU, using Kryo cores, plus it has up to 6 GB of RAM and a 4000 mAh battery. The 5.99 inch screen is of the “full screen” variety and there’s also a dual back camera with a 12 MP + 5 MP setup and a design that feels like the iPhone X. Selfies are taken with a 20 MP shooter with its own LED flash.
Now let’s see some prices! Probably on Valentine’s Day…
