Samsung Galaxy A6 (2018) and the Galaxy A6+ (2018) have started leaking recently, feeling like the cheaper versions of the Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018). These new devices are rumored to be destined for the European, Rusian and Middle Eastern market. And today they reach the FCC.
The newcomers have already been spotted on a variety of benchmarks and certification sites and now they get approved in USA, by the FCC. This means that a North American release may well be in the cards. We are cautious though because the FCC certification may just cover a few South American nations, instead of USA.
Usually certifications also mean specs, but this time we got them thanks to previously leaked benchmarks. Thus, we know that the Samsung Galaxy A6 (2018) is going to use an Exynos 7870 processor, coupled with 3 GB of RAM and probably 32 GB of storage. The Galaxy A6+ (2018) is going to rely on a Snapdragon 625 with 4 GB of RAM.
Both run Android 8.0 Oreo from the get go and they’re expected to have Project Treble support and jump to Android P when the time comes. Weirdly leaks showed Bluetooth 4.2 supported here, not Bluetooth 5.0 and while we don’t have info about the cameras, I’m expecting 13 or 16 MP for the back shooters and maybe some dual camera action upfront, like the A8 models. Prices of around $350 or $400 are being thrown around.
