Oppo F9 was released last week, inaugurating a new notch format and also triggering a large amount of copycats for this design. Now the same device gets called Oppo F9 Pro and it’s released in India with similar specs. Let’s check them out.

While the rest of the world has the Oppo F9, India gets the device as the Oppo F9 Pro and sans any triple camera or upgrades. There’s a waterdrop notch design upfront and a fancy romboidal pattern at the back. The Oppo F9 Pro packs a 6.3 inch Full HD+ screen with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and an IPS panel. It also has a MediaTek Helio P60 processor inside, as well as 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, plus a microSD card slot.

There are two nano SIM card slots here and while the global version also had a 4 GB RAM/64 GB storage version, India gets just the 64 GB/6 GB one. As far as the cameras are concerned, we get a 16 megapixel main sensor and a 2 MP secondary cam, for the dual back cam setup. Upfront there’s a 25 MP selfie camera, an approach we’ve seen often lately for Huaweis, Oppos and Vivos.

The same smartphone also brings a 3500 mAh battery with very fast VOOC Flash charging technology. This one offers 2 hours of talk time with a 5 minute charge. Android 8.1 Oreo runs out of the box with the Oppo ColorOS 5.2 on top. The handset is sold in India in Sunrise Red, Twilight Blue and Starry Purple, starting at just $344. It’s found on Flipkart and Amazon.in.

The lesser version of the F9 will come with 4 GB of RAM, 16 MP front camera and a price of $285.
