At some point during this year, Toshiba managed to leak its future plans for its TG series of smartphones. It certainly looked promising, with a bunch of models following-up the TG01, among which there were a couple of Android phones (unless we’re mistaking). Now, we have fresh info on the TG02, that you can find out below.

Toshiba-TG02

Toshiba TG02 will be a clamshell phone, unlike the device shown a couple of months ago, supposed to be the successor to TG01 and using the same design. As if this wasn’t confusing enough, the Wi-Fi Alliance mentions TM5-E01 as the model name for the handset and we’ve seen this before, as the device received the FCC approval months ago.

The User Manual revealed by the FCC a while ago mentions TG01/TM5-E01 as a smartphone with a 1GHZ Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU on board, a 3 inch WVGA touchscreen internal display, a QWERTY keyboard and a 0.8 inch external screen. This kind of reminds us of Toshiba Portege G910 and the handset also comes with Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and UMTS 2100 connectivity, plus a microSD card slot.
