There’s an upside to the fact that Americans can’t buy HTC Hero yet: it’ll have all its bugs fixed, by the time it reaches local carrier Sprint. And specially now, that HTC released a firmware update that fixes its sluggishness. Here’s a demo of the ROM update:

HTC’s international sites are making the update available right now and in case you can’t find the official version, the folks of the XDA Developers forum already have a custom version of the English language ROM based on the fresh update.

Some people were worried about the authenticity of the software, fearing a fake, but HTC went out and confirmed it via Twitter, as seen here.
