Lava Mobile has got a pretty interesting smartphone to showcase, the B5 Alpha model, pictured below. This mysterious device features an ABCDE keyboard layout, instead of the usual QWERTY one. As you can see, the handset’s design looks very much like the one of BlackBerry Bold and the OS on the B5 looks a bit like Windows Mobile.

The render above (can’t really call it picture) shows Verizon Wireless and EV-DO being supported on the device, that will apparently be available on the Indian market. Its features include an Indian calendar, Nimbuzz (IM, Skype etc), a 2MP camera, a bundled 2GB microSD card and a PC Suite app.

B5 Alpha costs $95 and it’ll also be available in a QWERTY version, if you’re interested.
