Acer has just extended its Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone line, also dividing its handsets into two categories: the Acer beTouch line and the Acer neoTouch line. While the first series is meant to reach the pockets of stylish and trendy users, the second is made out of high end devices, for business users.
The PC maker announced a total number of four handsets, the beTouch E100, E101 and E200 models, plus the neoTouch S200, aka Acer F1. Acer beTouch E100 and E101 feature a 3.2 inch WQVGA touchscreen display, Qualcomm 7225 528 processors, 12mm thick cases and 2 megapixel cameras. WM 6.5 is running the show on these devices and the specs list also includes Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and IE Mobile 6.
What sets these 2 models apart is the 3G factor, with the E100 offering quadband GSM and dualband HSDPA support, while the E101 model comes with quadband GSM and EDGE. The phones are available right now in UK, with a $335 and $253 price tag. Moving on to hotter devices, Acer beTouch E200 sports most of the features on the E100, plus a slide down numeric keypad.
E200 keeps the HSDPA support, adds a 3 megapixel camera in the mix, GPS and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR support, all for a $358 price tag. Last, we learn that the best specced device, Acer neoTouch S200 comes with a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, a 3.8 inch WVGA touchscreen display, a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and support for WiFi b/g, GPS and an accelerometer. Price tag is $470, on the UK market.
