It seems that high-end mobile phones with full HTML Internet browsers are growing more popular by the day, iPhone and Android devices included, so Google had to capitalize on this trend. They went out and announced a new feature for AdSense mobile publishers, allowing them to take advantage of the high-end mobile browsing experience.
Through the new features, publishers will be able to run larger AdSense ads, that will be viewed on smartphones, unlike the tiny text and images ads available till now. The upgrade was done by introducing a new JavaScript snippet, pretty easy to implement and customized for mobile usage, reducing latency on high end devices.
Also, this improvement allows users to select additional ad unit sizes, from AdSense formats. If the user is targeting all mobile devices, he won’t need to update his AdSense code for larger ads, since Google will automatically detect the settings and serve a larger ad.
