People keep forgetting that Alcatel is still in the phone biz and every once in a while they surprise us with a launch. This time they’ve debuted the Alcatel OneTouch View Windows Phone 7.8 handset in Russia and published a video promo shown below on this occasion.

The common trend of launching this model in multiple colours is here, just like the Nokia Lumias and the new HTCs. We’re dealing with a 4 inch WVGA screen smartphone, with a 1 GHz processor, a 5 megapixel camera and 512 MB of RAM. The price tag will be 6990 rubles in Russia, translated to about $226, so it’s a very affordable model, rivaling the likes of Nokia Lumia 620 and 510. The only non appealing part is the 4 GB of storage, of which 3GB are accessible to the user.

Windows Phone models are becoming cheaper and cheaper and soon it will be pretty hard to choose between a Galaxy Ace, Xperia Mini and a Windows Phone budget model like that, especially since the latter are so pretty. What do you choose?
