Here we are again, with a new Allview unboxing, this time the one of the Allview Soul X5 Style model. We’ve already played with the Allview Soul X5, the Soul X5 Pro, as well as the Soul X5 Mini. This newcomer is the most stylish of the bunch, as the name shows. We’re dealing with a $243 device, that was announced on November 1st and it gets unboxed below.
It’s a 6.2 incher with a sexy body, a big battery and available in blue and gold. Inside its box we find the SIM key, the manual, charger, USB cable and headphones. There’s also a silicon case and a screen protection. The phone itself is made of glass and metal, at least on paper, but the back side could actually be acrylic glass or polycarbonate fashioned to look and feel like glass.
Allview Soul X5 Style measures 8.05 mm in thickness, weighs 168 grams and provides dual SIM card slots, VoLTE and VoWiFi connectivity. It has a 6.2 inch screen with a 19:9 aspect, the famous notch and a 1500 x 720 pixel resolution. It also brings Gorilla Glass 3 protection and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo. I should also mention there’s a MediaTek Helio P22 CPU inside, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage.
Something called “Face ID” is here, for the sake of face unlocking, plus a microSD card slot for extra storage. The audio jack is intact this year for all Allviews, including this one. The camera situation goes like this: a dual combo at the back with a 13 MP + 2 MP shooter, F/2.0 aperture and upfront there’s an 8 MP camera with Bokeh. By the way, both the front and back cameras sport LED flashes.
4G+ and a microUSB 2.0 port are part of the very same package, rounded up by a 4000 mAh battery, with 5V/2A charger. Allview provides here its own virtual assistant, called AVI, as well as something called Fun Emoji, which is basically a way of turning your face into an emoji, that moves along with you. A fingerprint scanner completes the Face ID thing and on top of Android Oreo sits the Visual UI, based on swipes.
We’ll be back with a full review of the device ASAP.
