It’s no secret we play with Allview phones pretty often and those are Romanian locally integrated versions of Gionee handsets sometimes. Such is the case with the Allview X3 Soul Pro, but this is no regular smartphone, but rather a very innovative one. It’s the locally integrated version of the Gionee S8 and it’s filled with novelty.
Priced at $500 and available from this month, the product was officially unveiled back at MWC 2016. It’s the first 3D Touch Android phone we analyze and below you can check out its video preview, in lieu of an unboxing, that we can’t do, since we don’t have the official box. In this case the 3D Touch-style tech is dubbed Multi Level Touch and works in a similar way to the iPhone’s 3D Touch.
It involves various pressure levels applied to the screen in order to trigger some features. Allview X3 Soul Pro/Gionee S8 brings a 2.5D glass panel upfront and a beautiful metal body, with 7 mm waistline. The phone comes in gray or gold and relies on a MediaTek Helio P10 processor, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. The 16 megapixel back camera comes with laser focus and we also get a 3000 mAh battery, which sounds promising.
This model runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and uses an AMOLED 5.5 inch Full HD screen, plus an USB Type C port. The 8 megapixel front camera uses a “flash selfie”, basically turning up the brightness of the screen to work as a selfie flash. That’s all we have for this preview, but rest assured the review is very detailed and it’s coming sooner than you think.
