We’ve kept close contact with the Allview X4 Soul Infinity series ever since its debut and we’ve already played with the Allview X4 Soul Infinity N and Infinity L. Now here comes the biggie, the major, the flagship, Allview X4 Soul Infinity Plus. This is a 6 incher with high end specs, priced at $513 and unboxed below.
For those of you joining us later, Allview is a Romanian company, that locally integrates and brands Gionee phones, but now also has its own original devices. The Infinity series includes those. This top of the line machine adopts the same 18:9 aspect as the rest of the models in the range, but it goes to 6 inches in size. It’s got a dual camera and its box is pretty generous with accessories: warranty, manual, headphones (premium looking), charger, USB Type-C cable, USB adapter, PIN, case and screen protector.
The Infinity Plus measures 8 mm in thickness, which is OK, but the weight was crazy, at 156.4 grams. Usually 6 inch phones weigh 180 grams, sometimes even 200 grams and very few go below 170 grams. So, this weight is downright impressive. This is a dual SIM phone, one that offers a Full HD+ on its screen and it also has Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
Inside there’s MediaTek Helio P25 CPU, which is not exactly flagship material, but let’s reserve judgment till the review. The good thing is that we also get 6 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and all of those are crammed within a sexy Night Sky color case. The back is made using IML Art tech, which involves plastic imitating glass.
The screen has narrow bezels and the metal frame is solid. The dual back camera does 4K video capture and uses a 13 MP + 5 MP combo, with the ability to also perform Bokeh shots. Selfies are taken with an 13 MP front camera and the specs list also includes a 3050 mAh battery and a fingerprint scanner at the back. Allview also offers a Romanian vocal assistant called AVI, which they started implementing over the past months.
We’ll be back with a full review very soon, because this really looks like an interesting phone.
