Even if the Xiaomi Mi2 and the Mi2S are a little bit old, it seems that the Chinese company Xiaomi decided to keep updating the phones to the latest operating system, more precisely to Android 4.4 KitKat. We get to know, that beside these devices, is expected that this year other models like Xiaomi Redmi to receive the update too.

By using the same ROM files, Xiaomi Mi2 and the Mi2S managed to be updated in the same time because developers didn’t had to track bugs or errors separately. Such a thing is possible, even if the phones in case are coming with different processor in the package (Mi2S – Snapdragon 600 / Mi2 – Snapdragon S4 Pro).

However, we find out that this update to Android 4.4 KitKat is still a beta release so we may expect some bugs. As you may know, the update already arrived on Xiaomi Mi3, and on the recently launched Xiaomi Mi4, devices that are packing a better hardware compared to the previous models.
