AdMob is one of the largest mobile ad networks, that releases a monthly report, showing online ads statistics. One of these stats has shown that Android is eating out of Nokia’s market share, while the iPhone continues to rule the mobile web browsing segment.
Keep in mind that these statistics are not 100% accurate, specially since some smartphones can’t handle web browsing so well and BlackBerries are not popular with the AdMob network. Also, one must note the differences between North America, keen on fresh handsets like HTC Dream, iPhone 3GS and Palm Pre and Asia, with its passion for Nokia, or Europe, divided between the iPhone and Symbian OS devices.
We’ll be really curious to see the report once the Windows Mobile 6.5 handsets get released on October 6th.
